The Enemy is a Pacific Theater Sci-Fi comic short story I have been working for years. It has been quite difficult to advance in the midst of model making. Especially because my aim is to draw very realistic and detailed aircraft and dogfights. I hope I will be able to work on it again soon, but I doubt it. All the F4U-1D Corsair illustrations belong to “The Enemy”, as well as the A6M5 Zero ones.

This one is my first serious aircraft drawing I did. The style of the drawing is based on my severe 80’s Japanese animation influence, specially Macross and Venus Wars, plus many other piece of art animations from that decade. The Enemy comic book is Manga style too. After this illustration I wanted to do more and more detailed Corsairs, especially detailing the Pratt & Whitney -R2880 engine, as it is in my opinion a beautiful piece of machinery.
